Case Study: BMW Manufacturing

BMW Manufacturing, a new client of Exhibits South, had a vision to make their annual supplier diversity trade show a platform to provide inclusion and opportunity. Their goal was to make it seamless for their Tier 1 Suppliers to connect with Tier 2 Providers comprised of Women and Minority entrepreneurs. The event would host 1,000 plus suppliers and exhibitors. Effective use of space and streamlined design and setup were crucial to promote interaction.

BMW requested for Exhibits South to coordinate and manage the event fully, from design through installation and the event itself. This opportunity allowed us to think outside the box and pull out all the stops to showcase BMW as a successful facilitator of a premiere event. We then began to connect the dots for The BMW Tier 1 Supplier Diversity Matchmaker Conference.

From setting the agenda, event and venue guidelines, establishing an onsite help desk, to providing exhibitors with information on sending digital files, shipping, exhibits, and accessories, the wheels were in motion. A floor plan was created promoting easy access for suppliers and exhibitors to interact while maintaining space for BMW’s showcase of automobiles and a hospitality area.

The BMW Tier 1 Supplier Diversity Matchmaker Conference was a complete success in 2013, and has grown further in 2014 with hopes of expansion and creating connections between Tier 1 Suppliers and Women and Minority Businesses for years to come.
